Who is Adventure Mas?

Adventure Mas is an adventure education service, specializing in the planning, design, construction, repair, training, and risk management review of ropes challenge courses, climbing towers, and zip lines. Adventure Mas used to be Southwest Center for Experiential Learning, but once we began working more in South America we wanted to be more inclusive. In addition, we were offering more services - thus we changed the name. We are the same company with more to offer. We are an experience, innovative company that responds to your need with quick personal attention.

Why are we different?

We want to build you programs rather than simply building you a ropes challenge course. Our ability to custom-design and build a ropes challenge course was based upon our expertise as practitioners as well as builders. Our philosophy and approach to adventure based programming and the proactive of building ropes challenge courses and training came after we had spent many years working as direct staff in non-profit, school based, psychiatric, community mental health, Outward Bound type, university and camp programs. Our international work, both building and training, has given us experience which have increased our knowledge about ropes challenge courses. All of these varied and international experiences were priceless lessons learned because they enable us to better understand what our clients want and how we can offer different construction, programming, and budget options.

Are you tired of using the same old ropes course elements?

From our work in Europe, Asia, and South America, we now have in our collection of elements 14 low elements, rarely seen or used in the USA, and 5 high elements that each require a whole team involvement to accomplish the element.

Do you need annual ropes course refresher training before camp starts?

We know how to jump-start your training! Adventure Mas can show you how you can have program-approval instructors, with on-going staff training, utilizing our free manual. Our manual consists of a template on a CD that can be used by any organization needing ropes challenge course operations' policies and program procedures. This manual, with over one hundred and forty pages, has been peer-reviewed, field-tested for over ten years, and written to meet and exceed the present standards of the ACA, ACCT, ORCA, and AEE. We also offer workshops for camp staff using new games and initiatives for promoting better group dynamics with your campers.
